The pup-arazzi are hot on the trails of these cat celebs . . . from real life puff balls to our favorite cartoon cats, these felines stole our hearts, made us laugh and gave us something to look forward to on Saturday mornings.

So what fabulous felines made our list? Read on to find out which cats take the cake . . . or catnip . . . and make our top ten list of the greatest of the great.

Garfield
The lasagna eating, sharp witted, Odie loathing orange cat of Dave . . . our favorite beloved comic character turned cartoon and movie star steals our hearts decade after decade. While producers and writers may reinvent Garfield from time to time, his charm and comic genius never changes. From page to screen . . . he's one loveable cat that just gets better with age.

Heathcliffe
The beloved precursor to Garfield, this pioneer of comics and the original cat of Sunday laughter paved the way for other funny cats that would steal our hearts in year's future. Some might even say that Garfield is a direct descendent of this famed cat we all came to know and love.

Socks
The famed cat of Bill and Hilary Clinton, Socks is among one of the most famous pets to ever grace the Whitehouse yard. While his fame may be in part due to a shadowing of scandal, this cat is still famous nonetheless and worthy on cuteness alone to grace our top ten.

The Cowardly Lion
"I'll fight ya with one hand tied behind my back!" The Cowardly Lion stole our hearts because we connected with him on a human level. We all know what it's like to cover fear with bravery . . . no matter how painted on . . . and our hearts really went out to this feline who made us imagine what it would be like to live in the lovely land of Oz.

The Meow Mix Kitty
"Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow . . ." you know the rest of the ditty. This singing kitty was the cause of many "can't get that song out of my head" moments that lead to us meowing the lyrics to ourselves at work, at the grocery store and even in the shower . . . though be it so - rather badly.

"Don Piano"
Who can forget the unnamed, yet still feverishly famous "Don Piano" cat on America's Funniest Home Videos? No one knew what "Don Piano" meant but gosh . . . it left us all rolling in the floor with laughter! Not to mention he became an instant You Tube sensation.

Periwinkle
A favorite among the younger generation, Periwinkle, a purple friend of Blue in the Nick Jr. smash hit Blue's Clues . . . Periwinkle teaches children about manners, shapes, numbers and most of all about friendship. If you have a child, chances are this name has become a household favorite in your home and she needed no introduction.

Mr. Bigglesworth
Dr. Evil wouldn't even take "a billion-trillion dollars" for Mr. Bigglesworth, his hairless breed of feline friend who became known world round for his recurring appearances in the Austin Powers movie series. Can't you just see Mike Myers rubbing Bigglesworth's ear and holding his pinky to the corner of his mouth? It's clear to see why Mr. Bigglesworth became a pop culture icon in no time flat.

Tom
Poor Tom . . . Jerry always won, but without their relentless chase scenes and silly plans our Saturday morning wouldn't be near as fun. This piece of nostalgia has really stood the test of time making Tom arguably the most famous cat in the world!

Scratchy
The spoofed sidekick of Itchy in the hit series The Simpson's, Scratchy was always on the prowl for Itchy but much to his dismay . . . and the Simpson kids delight, Scratchy was usually on the losing end. A little grotesque, The Itchy and Scratchy Show was actually a spoof of Tom and Jerry and poked fun at the early antics of this dynamic duo.

While all of these cats are among the most famous on the planet, when it comes to felines everyone knows that your favorite will always be your own. So whether your cat makes you laugh, cuddles with you on the couch . . . or steals all your lasagna . . . treat him well and he will always treat you like a celebrity.
